A magnitude-4.4 quake was recorded on Wednesday evening, June 19, 2013, off the coast of Polillo, Quezon and was felt in parts of Luzon and Metro Manila including the cities of Quezon, Makati, Taguig, Pasay, and Marikina.
On its Twitter account, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS) said the epicenter of the earthquake was located 40 kilometers Northeast of Polillo, Quezon which occurred at 7:05 p.m. Wednesday, June 19, 2013. It had a depth of 5 kilometers.
The US Geological Survey, meanwhile, said on its website that the earthquake had a 4.9 magnitude with its epicenter traced to 9 kilometers off the eastern coast of Burdeos municipality in Polillo Island.
In an advisory, the PHIVOLCS said that the earthquake was felt at Intensity III in Labo, Camarines Norte; Infanta, Quezon; Quezon City; Arayat, Pampanga, and Intensity II in Makati City, Taguig City, Muntinlupa City, Pasay City, Antipolo City, City of San Jose del Monte in Bulacan. It added that the quake was also felt at Intensity I in in Caloocan City.
