The NBA Championship finals are now in the last stages and it’s down to just two teams. Miami Heat and the San Antonio Spurs have made it through the conference series and are now going head to head in the NBA Finals – a series of seven matches – where the winning team will be the one that takes home the most victories.
After two games had been played, both teams had one victory each and these are the kind of results you’d expect from post-season NBA. It’s all about the best playing the best.
In the third game of the series, however, San Antonio Spurs took the victory and are now in a 2-1 lead in the best of seven series. They beat Miami Heat 111-92. Miami Heat top players LeBron James and Dwyane Wade both scored 22 points in the match, while Spurs player Kawhi Leonard got a career-high with 29 points. During the game, Spurs dominated, including breaking an NBA finals record, when they hit 19 of their first 21 shots.
There’s still time to get a bet on who you think will win the NBA Championships. The next match is on Thursday 12 June and Miami Heat are favourites to win the Championships, currently with Betfair odds of around 7/4, while the San Antonio Spurs are priced at 4/9 to win. There are also odds available on the Series Score, the number of games each team will win during the series.
Anyone using Betfair, the world’s biggest betting exchange, always gets the best odds as there is no bookmaker taking a cut. It’s just normal people not only placing bets, but also laying (accepting other people’s bets). The way Betfair works is as follows. It’s an online market place where punters can bet on sporting and cultural events around the world. The customers bet against each other and not against Betfair. So it’s a bit like two friends are having a bet with each other in the pub and Betfair is the impartial barman who will hold the money until the result comes in. The money is then handed over to the winner.
