The Low Pressure Area (LPA) estimated East of Surigao City has developed into a Tropical Depression and was named “EMONG” .

370 km East of Catarman, Northern Samar
Coordinates: 12.4°N, 128.3°E
Strength: Maximum swinds of 45 kph near the center
Movement: North Northwest at 09 kph
Forecast Positions/Outlook: Monday afternoon:
320 km Northeast of Catarman, Northern Samar
Tuesday afternoon:
500 km Northeast of Catarman, Northern Samar
Wednesday afternoon:
490 km Northeast of Tuguegarao, Cagayan
No Public Storm Warning Signals Raised
Estimated rainfall amount is from 5 – 15 mm per hour (moderate – heavy) within the 300 km diameter of the Tropical Depression.

Tropical Depression “EMONG” is still far to directly affect any part of the country. However, it will bring moderate to occasionally heavy rains and thunderstorms over Southern Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao.

TD “Emong” is likely to intensify within the next 24 to 48 hours.

The public and the disaster coordinating councils concerned are advised to take appropriate actions and watch for the next bulletin to be issued at 11 pm today.
