The Philippine National Police Anti-Illegal Drugs Special Operations Task Force (PNP AIDSOTF) and Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) conducted a joint operation and raided a covert illegal drug laboratory and warehouse in San Fernando, Pampanga where at least 400 kilos of shabu (methamphetamine hydrochloride) were confiscated.
Armed with search warrants, the PNP anti-illegal drug teams stormed a ‘shabu’ laboratory and warehouse in Greenville subdivision where three Chinese nationals were arrested. The suspects were identified as Jason Lee, Near Tan and Willy Yap.
Found inside a room, a truck and an SUV were 185 sacks of shabu and 195 boxes of Ephedrine, a potentially dangerous substance used as an ingredient in manufacturing illegal drugs
A fourth suspect, Ying Ying Hiang, also known as Sophia Lee said to be the wife of Jason Lee, was arrested in nearby Richtown subdivision. Confiscated from her are 200 kilograms of shabu.
Chief Inspector Roque Merdegia Jr. of PNP AIDSOTF said the total illegal drug haul is about 400 kilograms with an estimated street value of P4 billion.
Medriaga said the seized boxes of ephedrine could be used to produce at least 300 kilgorams of shabu.
The successful raid, according to Medriaga, stemmed from a tip from an informant about the rampant illegal drug operations in the area.
The raiding teams believe that the suspects picked San Fernado, Pampanga as their base of operation because of its easy access to the North Luzon Expressway.
The four arrested suspects are scheduled to be brought to the PNP AIDSOTF headquarters in Camp Crame.
