Horizon is a camera-aware color gradient and image mapping tool. It is a fairly straightforward utility plug-in. It is meant to be used on the bottom (backmost) layer in a 3D comp. It generates a background that corresponds to the camera’s viewing direction.
Form is a grid-based 3D particle system with a twist. It can be used to create fluid, organic patterns, complex geometric structures and swirling stringy animations. Using other layers as maps for various properties provides endless possibilities to create unique designs. Furthermore, Form can be used as an audio-visualizer, automatically generating stunning visuals for your audio.
Particular is a powerful 3D particle system that can produce a wide range of effects from natural smoke and explosions to geometric or organic abstract motion graphics design elements.
Shine is a fast light effect plug-in. The effect looks very much like volumetric light, but is actually a 2D effect. There are special controls to make shimmering lights and numerous coloring modes. This is an effect that you see everyday on TV and in many movie titles. Before it was only possible to make using 3D apps (real volumetric lights) or using slower rendering 2D plug-ins.
Starglow is a fast-rendering glow effect. It creates a star-shaped glow around the highlights of the source. The star shape consists of eight directions, and each direction can be assigned an individual colormap and streak length.
3D Stroke uses paths from one or more masks to render volumetric strokes that can be rotated and moved freely in 3D space. It has a built-in camera for AE41 and Combustion 3 users and can also use AE5’s comp camera. Path reveals in 3D are easily made using the keyframable sliders for start and end.
Sound Keys is a keyframe generator plug-in for Adobe After Effects 5.0 and higher. It allows visually selecting a range in the audio spectrum and convert the audio energy in the selected frequencies to a stream of keyframes. It is very handy for making extremely audio-driven animations.
Lux simulates the phenomena of light reflection in a sparse medium, also known as “visible light”. This can be observed when lights are present in a slightly foggy environment, like on stage during a concert or outdoors on a misty night.
Echospace is used to duplicate, manage and animate layers in a convenient manner. It works similair to an echo effect, but instead of creating 2D echoes, it creates new instances of a layer in 3D space.
