EDSA bus bombing names of victims, In a briefing at past 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, DSWD secretary Dinky Soliman informed the media that government will shoulder all medical expenses of the EDSA bus bomb attack victims. The youngest of the victims is 19 years old while the oldest is 76, secretary Soliman revealed.
The official, however, refused to disclose the names of the victims. She likewise declined to name the casualties.
The incident reportedly happened on EDSA road in the city of Makati, Metro Manila. The bus was on its way to Bagong Silang, Caloocan when it was struck by the explosion.
Scene of the Crime Operatives (SOCO) has launched an investigation into the incident, which has also left at least 14 others with serious injuries. Police are yet to determine whether the explosion was caused by a bomb planted in the central part of the bus or by another reason.
“Makati City Mayor Jejomar Binay Jr. said that according to policemen who gave him an initial briefing on the incident, there is a strong indication that the explosion was caused by a bomb.” ABS-CBN News said.
Local authorities have closed the affected north-bound lane of EDSA-Buendia. The Ayala flyover going to Cubao area has also been closed. South-bound parts of EDSA remained open.
