Review

It runs on Android 4.0 ICS with myPhone’s UI so its a good thing. You can easily determine a higher end Android phone on its OS, well if it can run Android ICS it means its a better and more advance phone compared to those with just Android 2.3 Gingerbread and stuck on that.

The 4.3-inches screen is another asset to boast, it is also IPS so it means that in any way or angle you view it, the display will be always pleasant to eye. The fact that a 4.3″ IPS phone is offered on that very cheap price is overwhelming already.

The 1GHz dual-core processor, if its a MT6577 CPU chip then I can clearly say that it is fast and able to play HD games or even high-quality videos. You might already read about my review on the China phone ZOPO ZP100, which has just a MT6575 1GHz single-core CPU, with that experience; expect a faster and better performance on this new chip. However, we cannot still confirm it unless we or somebody personally checked it with some system testers but my hope is high that it is a MT6577 phone.

The 5MP with autofocus and LED flash camera is decent, not bad for its price tag. Good to know that it has flash. I have a 8MP-capable device but I just shoot photos with 1.3MP settings and I am somehow contented with it.

The 512MB RAM is the norm now on these ICS devices which is not to consider as too little. Its already sufficient for anyone and can let them do seamless multi-tasking. You can already do a lot with that, plus you can always optimize your RAM usage at your disposal. The 2.5GB of internal memory is a lot already, but I am not surprise as its also the norm for such Chinese phones on the same category bracket.

It is also dual-SIM phone, but having no 3G is a bit downer for people who needs it and has unlimited mobile data plan for them to enjoy mobile youtube streaming or downloading games and apps from the store. Still its reasonable and acceptable with its price tag. I bet it will only have support for E, as in “Edge” data connection.

The 1,800mAh battery is something good to note as well. We can expect a day or more of usage and app time depending on the user with that rating capacity.

Other stuff are pretty much not worth mentioning.

With all those specs, its obviously an smart deal to steal. You can get the myPhone A878 for only Php5,388 during their one day event on Sept. 28, 2012 at Metrowalk, Ortigas Center, Pasig City.

So guys, if you are looking for a good Android phone but on tight budget, then grab this chance. Miss this or face the Php7.5k pricing for this A878 which I just think is not a smart deal at all, or maybe I can just say that as I had never put the phone on my hands as of this moment. But we’ll see.
