NAIA Terminal 1 Ranked as the 5th Worst Airports
NAIA terminal 1 was picked as the 5th worst airport in the world and Asia’s worst airport for 2010 by an airport review website, “The Guide to Sleeping in Airports.”
Voters of the website which ranked NAIA 1 as the 7th worst airport in 2009 and now the 5th in 2010 think that the old Terminal 1 has no hope compared to Terminal 3 “where it is clean, spacious and has internet connection.”
The interactive site “The Guide to Sleeping in airports” ranked the NAIA terminal 1 as the fifth (5th) worst airports in the world, behind two in France, including the airports Charles De Gaulle in Paris, and airports in Los Angeles and Moscow.
The ranking of the airports were based on the reviews given by the travellers who complained in several things including safety concerns, lack of comfortable seating, rude staff, hostile security, poor facilities, no services to pass the time, and many more.
The website “The Guide to Sleeping in airports” where started by travel agent Donna MacSherry in 1995 and until now the site updates every year the list of the best and worst airports in the world.
Back in 2009, NAIA was ranked also as the 7th worst airports in the world which means it rise two places in 2010. Two more airports in Asia were also included in the list both from India, in New Delhi and Bombay which took the sixth and eight place in the ranking.
Complaints by the travellers in NAIA were mostly concerned in the terminal 1, which is the location for all the international flights except those of PAL which uses the terminal 2 and Cebu Pacific, Air Philippines and All Nippon Airways which occupied the terminal 3.
