SMART + PLDT Free Wifi Zone
Phone giant Philippine Long Distance Telephone Co. (PLDT) is setting up a network of Wifi zones in Metro Manila establishments, to provide its myDSL and landline service subscribers unlimited Wifi internet connection even when they step outside their homes or offices.
The PLDT WiFi Zones will soon be up in restaurants, malls, gas stations, bars, salons, PC shops, hospitals, and PLDT business offices in Metro Manila. Later, the service will expand to key provincial cities.
PLDT said its myDSL and landline subscribers are entitled to free trial for the service until end-November.
Right now, businesses that are already PLDT Wifi zones are select branches of Yellow Cab Pizza, Toyota Car dealers, Cardinal Santos Hospital, The Medical City, Burger King, Army Navy, Resorts World’s Republiq and Opus, Eastwood Mall, PC Express, and PLDT Business Offices.
PLDT partner establishments get a boost of up to 100Mbps guaranteed premium and reliable connection that their customers can use. These PLDT WiFi Zones are considered as an add-on service to their basic subscription.
According to PLDT’s VP for myDSL Retail Business Group Gary Dujali, “This new service is like an extension of our subscribers’ internet connection at home. Now they can experience premium Wifi service outside their home.”
He added that “users just need to look for the WiFi Zone logo in select establishments in order to experience high-speed connection from a PLDT WiFi Zone.”
PLDT myDSL and landline post-paid subscribers only need to register online for their unique Wifi PIN; the non-PLDT subscribers can get the free trial Wifi PINs by asking for these from the staff of the PLDT partner establishments.
Dujali said PLDT is also working “on expanding this service to our PLDT subscribers in key provincial cities all over the country.”
